A permanent, full time Finance Manager

  • Reporting role working within the Housing Sector and based in South Manchester. The role is paying between £44,000 £49,000 per annum and offers hybrid working.

Description
The key responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to;

  • Lead the operation and development of the core accounting systems ensuring accurate and timely accounting and budgetary information for the organisation;
  • Reporting requirements arising from the above, providing management accounts and revenue budget forecasts to the Executive and drafting quarterly reports to Funders.
  • Ensuring the Management Accountants reporting to the post holder liaise productively with budget holders to analyse results and consider actions to deliver effective budgetary control.
  • The post will prepare the draft annual budget and manage the budget setting processes for the Group (including the recharge framework within the Trust and between group companies).
  • Oversee preparation of Trust, subsidiary and consolidated Group accounts in the statutory format, managing the external audit process, and the publication version of the year end accounts for submission to Funders and the Regulator.
  • Oversee preparation of quarterly VAT returns for Group companies and submission of corporation tax returns to HMRC with assistance of taxation advisors.

Profile

  • Working towards completion of professional qualifications; CCAB, CIMA, ACCA
  • At least 5 years experience in a general finance operation, including general ledger management;
  • Strong ability to shape systems, ledgers and processes with precision to achieve optimal operation;
  • Able to draft clear written reports to budget holders and the Executive;
  • Advanced accounts and general ledger skills, capable of producing a trial balance that could be used for consolidated group accounts;
  • Good verbal communication skills, able to manage relations with internal customers effectively;
  • Experience of the housing sector would be desirable.
