Responsible to Group EH&S Manager and Regal Director of Production

Hours of Work 40 per week - 7:30am - 4:30pm Mon-Thurs with a 30-minute lunch break; 7.30am - 1.30pm Friday.


Place of Work This position is based in Ferndown, Dorset but may involve travel from time to time.


Main Purpose of Job
Provide operational EH&S Support to the Ferndown factory.


Key Tasks

Work alongside the Factory Manager and Group EH&S Manager (remote-based) to build a culture where H&S engagement becomes second nature amongst the workforce and our environmental agenda is delivered.

Maintain a safe working environment, through instruction, information and training.

Ensure that all Company Health & Safety policies, procedures and rules are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicatedInspect the site periodically reporting to management any deficiencies identified to maintain safety standards

Review / create risk assessments in line with current business activities. Ensure that all incidents are documented, investigated and any improvements implemented

Contribute to the development and improvement of Company Health & Safety procedures

Deliver statutory health & safety training to all employees including regular 'Toolbox Talks'

Provide regular reports to the Group EH&S Manager and local management.

Coordinate H&S meetings.

General facilities management including alarm maintenance, waste management & equipment and plant management.


Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Minimum of 2 years previous H&S experience

Understanding of environmental legislation

A good understanding of/experience in Park Home/Lodge manufacturing and/or wood mill machinery and crane requirements would be an advantage

IOSH certification required, NEBOSH preferred

Positive attitude

Strong facilitator with drive, focus and good admin skills

Strong communication skills

Able to engage at all levels

Willing to learn

Comfortable with accountability
