The role and responsibilities of an Infrastructure Engineer:

Monitoring live Cloud based systems for performance, security, and capacity issues
Design, build and implement Cloud and M365 solutions
Day to day Cloud resource and network management, both onprem and cloud hosted
Supporting and managing out internal VoIP telecoms systems
Third line support
Creating and maintaining system documentation

Skills required to be a successful Infrastructure Engineer:

Good Cloud (Azure) as well as traditional on-prem knowledge
Effective communication skills and ability to explain concepts to a nontechnical audience
Documentation composition (including pitching at correct level for target reader)
Project experience (to include planning, design, and implementation)
DR and business continuity management experience
Ability to manage and work concurrently on multiple assignments.
Ability to work independently and within a team
Process driven mindset and approach.
Excellent problem solving/root cause analysis skills required.
Good Automation skills

Experience required to be a successful Infrastructure Engineer:
Essential

Understanding of Windows Server operating systems
Microsoft Azure, particularly managing Virtual Machines (IaaS), Networking, Storage and PaaS solutions (App Services, Function Apps, Service Bus, Logic Apps and so on)
M365/EOL
Active Directory
Windows Updates
Managing enterprise software such as Antivirus

Desirable

Web servers/IIS
Azure Application Gateway
SFTP
Telephony (Twilio VoIP)
Intune/Endpoint
Azure Certification (AZ900 / AZ104 or similar)
PowerShell (We want to automate whatever we can)
