Overview
This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing business in the design team as an established menswear and boyswear Junior CAD designer at Mountain Warehouse.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and creative designer to join a small fast paced team who will bring support and value to the business.
We are looking for a designer with a minimum of 2 years' experience designing men's technical outerwear. Duties involve researching and designing apparel product, ranging across technical outerwear, activewear and casualwear.What you'll be doing
- Design across multi product, ranging across technical outerwear, activewear (including swim) and casualwear.
- Analyse the marketplace, to drive newness and direction researching into emerging shape, fabric and colour trends.
- Overseeing the product lifecycle from research to tech pack stage.
- Work closely with buying teams to liaise with new and existing suppliers, sending out sourcing packs for trim and design direction.
- Solve and adhered to all deadlines and brief constraints.
- Ensure design development across all departments is original, inspiring and commercially executed reflecting the brands image.
- Creating trim and tech packs at industry standard with high level of accuracy and detail.
- Presenting and articulating seasonal creative to Heads of Buying and Design.
- Helping maintain critical path to ensure all samples are in by seasonal deadlines.
- Liaise with team members to ensure excellent communication and efficiency.
We'd love to meet someone with
- 2+ years creative industry experience in Menswear Outerwear design with strong technical knowledge of outerwear construction fabrics and finishes.
- Proficiency in adobe illustrator and InDesign.
- A commercial eye and engaging design portfolio demonstrating design development with tech pack examples across outerwear, activewear and casualwear.
- Excellent time management and project coordination skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to multiple deadlines in a highpressure environment.
- Experience working as part of a team demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
