Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust are pleased to be able to offer an opportunity to join a small, friendly team on permanent basis, who are responsible for supporting Theatres and the wider hospital departments with Sterile Services to provide quality outcomes for patients.

This is a flexible post which includes evening, weekend and bank holiday working. We work a shift system currently which you would be required to participate in to meet our service needs


To be responsible for the receipt and distribution of Sterile Surgical Instrumentation and the collection and dispatch of used/soiled Surgical Instrumentation to and from all areas of Trust.

To be responsible for ensuring that all instrumentation movement is recorded using specialist computer database software and scanning equipment. To manually handle incoming and outgoing goods as required. To ensure that a complete, efficient and auditable stock control system is maintained

Previous experience in Sterile Services is not essential as full training and support will provided. We are looking for the right person who is willing, flexible and able to work using their own initiative.

The successful applicant must be willing to work currently across two sites, Sandwell Hospital and City hospital BMEC and in the near future will also include our new Hospital MMUH

The shift patterns for this post are as follows;
14:00-19:00 and every other weekend x1 shift 07:00-13:00 alternative Saturday/Sunday
