Description
Shepcote is a family run business founded in 1969. We pride ourselves on our first class products and first class service. We manufacture Marzipan Fruits and cake decorations under our own brand and for customers.

We source and supply sugar and syrups and ingredients such as nuts, seeds and dried fruit and beans, pulses and gains to bakeries, health food shops and retail outlets.

We employ 60 people in Production, Warehouse, Technical, H&S, Customer Service, Finance and Sales.


The role
We are looking for a Customer Service Advisor to handle customer/sales orders over the phone and build and maintain successful relationships with our customers


The role includes:

  • Asking questions to understand what the customer wants and providing options and advice.
  • Answering questions about our products and the company.
  • Providing information about new products, clearance lines and other products on offer.
  • Providing quotations and checking product availability.
  • Going the 'extra mile' to help meet the sales quota and bring in future sales.
  • Keeping records of calls and notes on customers on the company's CRM system.
  • Entering/updating customer orders/information on our database.
  • Handling payment transactions.
  • Processing and tracking orders, invoices, credit notes and collections.
  • Handling queries and complaints.
  • Escalating matters to the technical team or other people in the company where necessary.
  • Performing administrative tasks as assigned by the Customer Service Manager.

About you:


  • Friendly and outgoing, with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Proven experience as a Customer Service/Sales Advisor, ideally in the food service sector.
  • An excellent communicator, with good people skills, comfortable talking to customers over the phone.
  • Work hard to know your product and can pass on what you know to your customers.
  • Actively listen, offer options and find solutions.
  • Have a good track record of getting things done on time and meeting targets.
  • Accurate, organised and plan your work.
  • Handle difficult situations well and resolve any issues or complaints calmly and professionally.
  • Keen to help the company grow through customer relationships and firstclass service.

£23,556.00 per year
