Description

To provide and carry out a high quality, effective and efficient maintenance repair service across all Borno Chemist's Limited branches, commercial and residential properties.


The Maintenance person will understand the mechanism of buildings including electrical, basic plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry, safety systems and equipment.

To provide immediate response to fault finding, whilst maximising quality and ensuring cost effectiveness.

To assist the Property Manager with the prioritisation, programming and monitoring of all maintenance repair works required.

To ensure that customers always receive a friendly professional service


COMPANY VAN PROVIDED

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate as well as have the skills,

  • Day to day maintenance, painting, carpentry, plumbing issues knowledge
  • Manage own workload and priortise work to ensure repair deadlines are met.
  • Evaluate and organise workload to maximise cost efficiency and minimise your travel time.
  • To respond to emergency calls with the minimum of delay.
  • To prioritise maintenance repair requests with the Property Manager/Property Assistant.
  • To assist the Property Manager in developing a Planned Maintenance Program
  • To be proactive in identifying potential problems/issues during your working day
  • Report major repairs, electrical/gas fittings/central heating and plumbing to the attention of Property Manager or Property Assistant
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure best value for money is always achieved
  • Maintain records of all equipment, keys, stock items and general materials held
  • Undertake and record regular checks of company vehicle where provided
  • Subject to training, to carry out all necessary portable appliance testing and statutory fire alarm tests.
  • To take special note of Health and Safety at Work Standards; to use protective clothing and safety equipment when appropriate.
  • Ensure that duties are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety policy
  • Complete the following H&S checks as required, i.e. Building Inspections, Fire escape routes, Emergency Lighting, Legionella testing
  • Any additional adhoc duties required relating to the role of Maintenance Officer
  • Provide support and assistance where required in other areas of the business

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Full UK clean driving licence

Minimum of two years' maintenance experience required

Recognised maintenance qualification preferable

Knowledge in all areas of general maintenance essential

Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team

Understanding of customer care and quality issues

Knowledge of current Health & Safety Legislations

Works well under pressure

Good record keeping

Computer Literate
