HancoxRead Recruitment have a vacancy for the position of Experienced Performance Manager working in Sandwell area.

Job Summary


To lead the ongoing development, implementation and co-ordination of the corporate performance management framework that assists Sandwell Council to achieve and maintain high levels of performance and value for money.

To take management responsibility forthe development and presentation of clear and transparent performance reports and benchmarking activities, providing senior managers, Elected Members and the public with intelligence on delivery of the Corporate Plan and outcomes for residents of Sandwell.

Ensure the continual development and embedding of a performance culture that focuses on improving outcomes for residents throughout the organisation.

Working across the service, the Directorate and the council to support the development and implementationof corporate policy and improvement activities.

To manage people and other resources in order to deliver priorities and objectives or as otherwise directed.

Your current duties and responsibilities are:

  • To take ownership of management responsibilities within the service area and deliver the objectives and priorities of the Council, through engagement, consultation and negotiation with all stakeholders, utilising skills of persuasion.
  • To develop, establish and maintain appropriate systems to support effective, efficient, accurate and timely reporting of performance and management information across the organisation. Regularly review reporting mechanisms to ensure they incorporate bestpractice and meet the needs of the organisation
  • To lead on analysis of data and intelligence at a corporate level to identify areas for improvement and support the development of action plans to address issues.
  • Work with services across the Council to regularly review performance indicators and targets that drive improved outcomes for residents and agree collection methodologies with services
  • To establish and maintain arrangements to ensure robust data quality arrangements are in place across the corporate performance management framework
  • To lead the co-ordination of benchmarking activities to enable services to assess performance and costs across a range of peer groups and work with services to implement change as a result.
  • To maintain and develop professional knowledge, skills, and experience to further enhance service delivery and support colleagues both within the service area and Council wide.
  • To have a detailed understanding of relevant legislation and underlying concepts and principles of the work area.
  • To support the Strategic Lead in the motivational leadership of teams ensuring clarity of direction, effective communication and the development of employee's full potential.
  • Deliver potentially contentious communications to a range of audiences in support of all service area activities.
  • To develop and deliver training to officers and members on performance management approaches, systems and processes in order to embed a performance culture across the organisation.
  • To undertake detailed research and analysis to support all service area activities to deliver council wide priorities.
  • To contribute to the implementation of creative and innovative solutions to a wide range of challenges.
  • To undertake Appraisals with employees within agreed timescales.
  • To have a shared responsibility for income generation or expenditure budgets and a contributory role in budget setting in accordance with the Council's financial and contractual regulations and procedures.
  • To develop and produce policies and strategies relating to the service area, ensuring that all decisions are evidenced and supported by sound technical principals.
  • To support the Strategic Lead with annual planning for the service area to achieve objectives and service improvement.
  • To support the Strategic Lead on service development within the service area ensuring that both strategies and services are fit for purpose and are future proofed (as much as possible) against changing circumstances. Work within broad functional policiesand objectives.

Hours:
37 Hours - Flexible


Salary:

£22.09 per hour
