Shuttleworth College, renowned for its commitment to excellence in education and adventurous spirit, is currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Instructor for Outdoor Adventure to join our dedicated team.

As an FE College offering an exceptional range of water and land-based outdoor and adventurous activities and expeditions, we pride ourselves on providing our students with unrivaled opportunities to develop their skills and passion for outdoor pursuits.

The role of Instructor plays an essential role in our students success, through:

  • Preparing and delivering practical learning materials and activities across a range of courses.
  • Overseeing all practical areas, with responsibility for Health and Safety.
  • Providing technical support in practical and classroom areas.


You should possess relevant qualifications and certifications in outdoor adventure, enabling you to lead with authority and expertise, details of which can be found within the Job Description.


Excellent communication skills, patience, and a nurturing approach are essential as you guide students of all abilities, fostering their self-assurance and resilience within challenging environments.

Contract Type - Bedford College Professional Services

  • 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year
  • 27 days per annum (plus public holidays), pro rata for parttime
