Intranet Content Specialist


The Intranet Content Specialist will play an important role in the delivery of the new Intranet which is being delivered as a project and will be built on SharePoint Online with integration with other M365 services.


Purpose


The Intranet Content Specialist will support the Head of PR and Communications, Internal Communications Manager and IT Projects Unit in successfully delivering a modern Intranet.

This will include involvement in the project, preparation and creation of content,input into design and functionality of Intranet templates and delivery of training to other content owners.


You will

  • Lead the content creation activities within the Intranet Modernisation Project
  • Support other areas of the project during and after the golive such as designing templates, testing and documentation. This will include working with colleagues as well as third parties.
  • Partner with departmental stakeholders to gather requirements for content on the Intranet.
  • Define, plan and schedule the creation and updates for content on the Intranet.
  • Develop and manage a community of content creators to implement bestpractice content and community engagement plans.
  • Produce governance and guidelines for the ongoing management and ownership of the Intranet.
  • Be proactive on the improvement of our Intranet platform, including search engine optimisation, community navigation, layout, and onbrand look and feel.
  • Data collection and analysis to deliver monthly reporting on the health of the online community, adoption and engagement metrics and managing opportunities to drive improved engagement.

You have

  • Excellent experience of working successfully with enterprise Intranet platforms with excellent content management skills especially for intranets and communication platforms built on the M365 stack including SharePoint, Teams and Viva
  • Previous experience of editing copy and content for intranet
  • Ability to summarise and organise information.
  • Strong experience of successfully delivering training to users both on site and online, in groups and on a onetoone basis
  • Previous strong experience of producing clear and concise documentation including user support guidelines and training materials.
  • A desire to work collaboratively in a team, drawing on the expertise of colleagues to ensure that the requirements of the organisation as a whole are met.
  • The proven ability to analyse customer requirements and advice, from both technical and missional colleagues, and develop solutions to support the delivery of their needs.
  • Demonstrable excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the proven ability to convey complex ideas/processes/procedures to technical & nontechnical audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong, successful, and collaborative working relationships at all levels within an organisation and with external suppliers.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, effective time management and the ability to prioritise work, and be able to respond to tight deadlines both as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Educated to degree level in a professional or related discipline and/or with equivalent relevant practical experience and a minimum of ITIL foundation.
  • The ability and willingness to work within and be empathic with the ethos and values.

You may have

  • Experience of working in the charity sector.
