Maintenance Engineer - Barnsley, United Kingdom - Staff 365 Recruitment Services
Description
Purpose of the role- Maintenance of the production equipment to minimize downtime and maximise production output and using a planned maintenance programme, CMMS, react to breakdowns and technical issues.
Hours of work:
Monday - Friday 06:00- 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00 rotating each week.
Alternatively a fixed 14:00-22:00 shift is also available.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all plant and equipment is operationally safe and complies with relevant legislation.
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance.
- Diagnosing faults
- Responding to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing faults and monitoring performance of equipment after repairs have been carried out.
- Priority will be health and safety, reactive breakdowns, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement of machines and facilities.
- Fitting new parts to ensure equipment is working correctly.
- Be part of a team Planning equipment upgrades and machinery modifications.
- Specifying new components for existing equipment.
- Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
- Replacing and commissioning machines when prescribed period of usage is complete.
- Working in cooperation with production to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the manufacturing process
- Provide and implement technical solutions to continuously improve the manufacturing process
- Contribute to the production of the highest quality products, good customer service and continuous improvements
- Liaising with other departments, customers and engineering and production colleagues.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Maintenance of facilities as and when required

- Proven knowledge and experience of fault finding and repair on CNC machines, edgebanding machines and beam saws

- Apprentice trained
- Understanding of pneumatics/hydraulics, installation of machinery, LOTO and permit to work
- Experience of electrical and mechanical maintenance engineering at a similar level in a production/manufacturing environment
- Exposure to SCM machinery advantageous
- Experience of lean, 6 sigma,6s is highly advantageous
