About the role

Working to support the Housing Voids Process the Data Support Officer will provide a proactive and flexible support role to new Moving Homes Team.

The aim of this team is to improve the process letting council homes, this role will have a focus on supporting the Housing and Lettings work.

The Data Support Officer will provide a variety of data and administrative activities.

These range in nature including running data reports from Camden IT platforms, coordinating property information with third party service providers, raising purchase orders, updating new tenancy information with stakeholders, liaising with other Camden staff to deal with issues such as arranging forced entries and access to void properties.

The Data Support Officer will need to support and adapt according to service need and show willingness to perform the full range of activities undertaken.


This role will focus on supporting the delivery of empty homes faster to our residents with housing needs, which is a priority area for the Housing and improving rental income into the HRA.


This role will deliver:


  • Continue Continue upkeep of established data processes such as system and database management that effectively supports the work of the programme.
  • Running regular reports on performance data from NEC and Qlik
  • Coordinating the Virtual Viewing property lists; liaising with the third party providers and quality checking the product before use for residents.
  • Raising and receipting of purchase orders and supporting the processing of financial payments.
  • Updating new tenancy information with Void Energy providers on external portals and dealing with enquiries.
  • Preparing a report for and attending matching panel to support the work of the panel.
  • Collating new tenancy starter packs.
  • Contribute to the automated voids process and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Providing data for the various work areas of the team.
  • Support other team members when required.

About you:


  • You will be experienced in provided excellent customer and administrative services in a fast paced, citizenfocused environment.
  • You'll have the ability to develop good working relationships and demonstrate effective communication skills: written and verbal, with an ability to express issues in a clear and appropriate manner and work with a range of audiences.
  • You will be expected to show high levels of professionalism and be approachable, courteous, and helpful in the delivery of support.
  • You will have the ability to work with minimum supervision, using problem solving skills and initiative to provide considered judgements that are customer focused.
  • You'll also be able to work flexibly, balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines whilst understanding the needs, timescales and deadlines of others while maintaining an eye for detail. This role requires you to deal diplomatically and confidentially with a wider range of stakeholders internally and externally. It also requires a level of resilience.
  • You will be expected to embrace new technology to ensure that work is undertaken in the most effective and efficient way. You will also work closely with colleagues to identify areas for improvement.
  • It is essential that you are educated to GCSE level or equivalent (to include Maths and English), and / or have an NVQ3 in Business Administration or similar.
  • You should be able to demonstrate that you have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and that you have effectively used systems to input and extract information.

Work Environment:

The post-holder will be required to work flexibly and in different office locations within the London Borough of Camden.
Work will be a combination of office-based and home working.
The post holder will be required to work on their own and as part of a team.
