Job purpose:

To provide support to the Student services team. This role will be an interesting and varied administration role. It gives the opportunity to learn and work within an established and efficient team within an educational setting.

  • Monitoring learner attendance and punctuality
  • Contacting Parents and carers regarding attendance & punctuality
  • Administration duties as directed by the Student Services manager
  • Progression tracking of learners once they leave
  • Student welfare and IAG
  • Tracking internal progression inc HN
  • Tracking learners with health issues
  • Pastoral support
  • Breakfast club
  • Certificates / predicted grades letters for showcase event
  • Tracking of engagement with student services / issue / outcome

Student Services Team


To work with the student services manager to ensure the attendance of the learners is monitored and actioned with smart targets for learners.

To provide advice and guidance to learners who visit the student services hub as required. Sign posting the students to internal and external organisations as required.

To ensure that the Student services hub is always neat and tidy and well stocked with information.

To be proactive in researching activities and support that meets the students interests and needs.

Input into the calendar of events for the year and take an active part in the planning of events held by the student services department.

To be responsible for breakfast club as arranged with the student services manager.

Breakfast club starts at 8.30am and is packed away at 9.15am to enable students to get to class on time.

On days when you are responsible for breakfast club you will finish at 4.30pm.


BCT Targets
You are expected to support BCT with attendance and punctuality monitoring, to ensure the following outcomes for each cohort:

  • Punctuality 95%
  • Attendance 90%
  • Retention 85%

Accreditation and assessment
Invigilate for learners sitting exams in accordance with JCQ requirements.


Salary and days of work

  • Salary £16,000 per annum (£22,000 FTE)
  • 35 hours per week 5 days per week (Monday Friday
  • 38 weeks per annum (term time +2 weeks)
