Description

Our client is a growing multisite business looking to hire a Tax and Audit Accountant.

The role will support the Group Financial Controller and Senior Tax and Audit Accountant and will suit a progressive ACA/ACCA or CIMA studier.

Responsibilities:

Assist in producing the Group Consolidated Financial Statements for Topco Limited and individual company Financial Statements for all subsidiary entities using Lucanet and Smartnotes.
Assist where required in the planning and fieldwork of the audit to ensure work is carried out on time and to a high standard.
Prepare quarterly returns using Making Tax Digital software, ensuring VAT TB in all legal entities is fully reconciled and current VAT quarter transfer from control accounts to clearing accounts each quarter. Utilise the Group VAT checklist to prepare returnsand ensure all discrepancies in VAT rates, GL dates etc are investigated and resolved.
Post all VAT payments into the ledgers and ensure Intercompany charges are raised after each quarter.
Prepare monthly reconciliations of all VAT accounts and investigate any query items, liaising where appropriate with external VAT advisors.
Upload reconciliations to the Blackline System.
Check HMRC portals every month to ensure the liabilities recorded in Group ledgers agree to HMRC records and correct if not (escalating to line management if unable to resolve)
Corporation Tax post all payments and receipts correctly and assist with reconciliation of accounts. Review tax sensitive accounts to ensure correct treatment of all items and identify items to be included in P11d/PSA returns follow up any query itemswith relevant members of the Finance team.
PSA monthly review of Employee Expenses and other relevant information to build up PSA information during the year. Assist with preparation of annual PSA returns.

A salary of £30,000-£35,000 plus study and benefits.
