Residential Support Worker

40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, options for part time working available

Salary Range £21,835 - £25,324

Sleep-ins paid at an extra £78.48 per night

This role can be both physically/emotionally demanding, and you must have the confidence/patience to adapt to the challenging behaviours that the young people can present.

In order to be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a strong desire to support young people, have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our young people to reimagine their potential
  • Be a patient, caring, compassionate with a young person centered nature
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations, be a team player with experience of support work in both educational and residential settings
  • Emotional intelligence and resilience with the ability to react calmly in stressful situations
  • Be able to work flexible hours as this role includes working daytime, weekends, evenings and sleep over shifts on a rota basis
  • Evidence your experience of providing supervision or line managing other team members
  • A
    NVQ 3 in Health and Social Work would be desirable, but not essential, as Ruskin Mill Trust will financially support you to gain this qualification
