Hours:
At least 40 hours per week;


Monday to Friday; with varied start / finish times between 06:30 to 18:30 plus additional hours as and when required including some weekend work

Salary:
Approx. £40,000 per annum


Based on:


£15 per hour, Monday - Friday 08:00 - 18:00)

£18 per hour (Monday to Friday 18:00 - 08:00 + weekends)

£30 night allowance paid for any work finishing after 00.00 or before 0500 or whilst on tour

Average per annum £40,000

  • A professional driver that cares about the comfort and safety of Cheney Coaches' passengers whilst you drive to their destination be it a school trip, private hire or on a tour

Would you:


  • Like to own our customer's journey from prearrangements, collection to returning the coach to the depot
  • Be there to help passengers load and unload their luggage as well as helping disabled passengers to get on and off the vehicle.

Do you:


  • Have a natural flair with people happy interacting with our customers and exceeding their expectations delivering excellent customer service?
  • Have proven excellent driving skills
  • Have knowledge of UK geography and able to plan routes?

The opportunity:


An opportunity has arisen to work for Cheney Coaches and join this family run business that takes great pride in having built an enviable reputation for providing a professional, friendly and efficient coach service.

You will hit the ground running in this role.


Key responsibilities being:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the coach and presentable both internally and externally
  • Conduct a first use / end of day vehicle walk round / maintenance check escalating any issues to the Transport Office.
  • Report any incidents to the Transport Office
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction at all times.
  • Assist any passengers who are having difficulty getting on or off the vehicle especially those with restricted mobility
  • Keep in regular contact with the office to find out about traffic, weather conditions and roadworks or accidents which could cause delays or route changes.
  • Help passengers load and unload luggage and help passengers to board and alight the vehicle.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction at all times.
  • Own the customer journey from prearrangements, collection to returning the coach to the depot.

If you have:


Essential:


  • Holder of a valid Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV) licence
  • Hold an up to date Driver Certificate of Professional Competence, (DQC Card)
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, with ability to adapt your style to different customers and stakeholders.
  • Previous experience as a coach driver or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of UK geography, able to plan routes.
  • A proactive approach and using your own initiative.
  • Valid enhanced DBS check (no older than 3 years)
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable:


  • IT skills
  • Coach Manager system
