About us


nasen is the National Association for Special Educational Needs - a charitable organisation that exists to support and champion those working with, and for, children and young people with SEND and learning differences.


We seek to ensure that all education practitioners across early years, schools, post-16 and wider settings are equipped to understand, identify and support those with SEND and learning differences, and provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD), resources, advice, information and much more to enable all staff to meet the needs of all their learners.


Our work spans the delivery of international programmes of support through to direct, 'on the ground' engagement with schools and settings through the DfE-funded, Universal Services programme, led by Whole School SEND.


About the role


nasen is currently recruiting a Head of Data & Insights to lead all data and analytical requirements across the charity.

This role within nasen's Senior Leadership Team offers the opportunity to join a small, yet dedicated and passionate workforce.

This exciting opportunity will allow you to be the key lead in influencing the direction of our strategy, whilst also contributing to the day-to-day tasks required to maintain and implement an effective and accessible CRM.


You will be an essential and valued member of the Senior Leadership Team, helping us in our mission to create an inclusive and equitable education for all.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

Role Objectives

  • To lead the strategic direction of data development and progression for the charity
  • To drive the development of data analysis, ensuring nasen has robust information on which to develop organisational priorities and activities and showcase our story so far.
  • Be the key liaison across internal teams and provide regular analysis and KPI reporting
  • Lead on development and transformation projects to improve nasen's use of existing data assets
  • Lead and be accountable for procurement of commissioned data solutions, data tools, and software for the organisation
  • Work with colleagues and external stakeholders, to develop a deep understanding of the existing capabilities and data requirements for new initiatives, projects and programmes

Responsibilities

  • To manage the exploration, collection and internal dissemination of external data sets, with regular horizon scanning of sector relevant data
  • Create a system which allows you to Identify significant quantitative changes across the business, noticing key trends and patterns
  • Act as the data bridge across all teams, supplying information when required to teams including the executive board, marketing, education, finance and the project management office
  • Take ownership of organisation wide data reporting, providing accurate and insightful analysis
  • Make data actionable by creating clear extract, load and automation processes using CRM
  • Develop, and maintain the nasen CRM through a clear framework, in partnership with our thirdparty provider.
  • Contract management of supplier contracts and attendance at meetings with key stakeholders on behalf of nasen, as required.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

  • Educated to degreelevel standard or equivalent experience, with GCSE passes in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Professional qualifications relevant to data management. Other equivalent relevant qualifications will be considered
