The Air Ambulance Service provides two very important functions, Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and the Children's Air Ambulance which provides paediatric transfers across the UK.

Our objective is to save lives, utilising specialist pilots, doctors, and paramedics and with our work centred on saving lives, improving clinical outcomes and being able to react quickly and efficiently to emergencies.

Role Purpose


Our Website Executive is responsible for supporting the Website Manager in ensuring that The Air Ambulance Service's (TAAS) website and web-shop are up to date, optimised, and aligned with industry trends.


You'll be responsible for creating engaging web pages, to inform and engage visitors about TAAS and its activity; developing our e-commerce activity; and supporting with day-to-day and campaign activity.

Marketing and Communications Team, Operations Team, Retail Team, New Goods Team


External:
Website hosts, Charity Ambassadors


Key Responsibilities

  • Help manage our CMS for Main and Events website, working with Website Manager, developers and editors to ensure it is meeting the needs of our organisation
  • Maintain and develop webshop and product lines alongside New Goods Team
  • Helping to guide our ecommerce strategy
  • Build and edit pages in line with industry best practice, charity needs, and campaign activity
  • Conduct content audits to identify gaps and redundancies in website content
  • Produce maps and visualisations of the site to help staff understand the structure and function of the website
  • Write and edit web copy, including but not exclusive to blogs, on site pages, ticket and product descriptions
  • Source, commission and occasionally edit images and videos
  • Analyse Google Analytics data to understand how users interact with the website, using this knowledge to propose improvements to the website
  • Work closely with our Social Media team to ensure an integrated approach across all channels.
  • Report on website performance and use information to drive changes and updates
  • Optimise content with a focus for Search.

Experience

  • Worked with CMS previously, ideally Wordpress
  • Understanding and knowledge of SEO
  • Highly organised, with the ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Strategic, and able to oversee large projects while working with others
  • An excellent writer and editor, with good spelling and grammar and the ability to adapt to house styles
  • Able to research, collate and summarise information from different sources
  • Logical and analytical, with an ability to spot patterns, gaps and repetitions in web content
  • Able to communicate confidently and clearly with a variety of stakeholders
  • Technically minded, with an understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web technologies
  • Experienced with Google Analytics
  • Experience in, or a passion for, ecommerce
