Peabodyhas an exciting opportunity for a
Housing Support Worker on a
part time (15 hours per week), permanent
basisbased in
Bexhill, East Sussex.In return, you will receive a competitive salary of
£9,982.40 pro rata.

About the Housing Support Worker role:

As a
Housing Support Worker, you will be providing specialist support for adults who have mental health issues and are vulnerable and in need of help to develop skills to live independently.

Pathways is a specialist supported housing schemefor people with mental health issues.


What we're looking for in our Housing Support Worker:

  • An empathetic nature with the ability to provide emotional and practical support to vulnerable tenants with complex needs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A passion for people with a genuine desire to support people to build confidence and empower them to be able to live independently
  • Thorough and up to date knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults, local policies, protocols and good practice
  • Confidence in using IT packages

What you can expect to be doing as our Housing Support Worker:

  • Providing support, advice and guidance to residents which may include financial, independent living skills, tenancy maintenance, cooking, DIY skills, health, training and work
  • Assisting residents to manage their mental health, recovery and improve their confidence
  • Ensuring that the tenants needs are met by liaising with other organisations providing access to communitybased services and resources
  • Involving the tenant in everyday household tasks where possible, and help to develop the skills needed to achieve this
  • Liaising with external agencies e.g. for Benefits, Health professionals/agencies, local authorities
