The Test Department involves testing all products for clients which includes testing rebuilds, test solutions (current and new solutions), fault finding and one of the most important is interacting with internal and external clients.

We currently have a very exciting opportunity as a
Test Development Engineer who will be responsible for enhancing existing Test Equipment and investigate and develop alternative solutions to provide best possible Test Methodology.

The Test Development Engineer role will involve:

Investigating existing Test Platforms to determine the possibility of enhancing their capabilities
Investigating new techniques or procedures to improve efficiency and or capability within the Test department. Liaising with Test Manager on findings and supply details of potential expenditure and savings
Liaising with and visiting suppliers and current users of alternative equipment if required as part of investigation
Carrying out DFT activities on new or current designs as required
Providing support to any part of the test department as required and being available to report findings to any other department or management level applicable in a professional and logical manner
Carrying out any other test function if required or when available
Gaining ability to develop Test Solutions internally and being able to oversee other team members development to further enhance the ability to provide Test Solutions internally

For this role you will need:

Good knowledge of Microsoft office to include; excel, word, access and outlook
Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and schematics
Ability to identify components
Able to work effectively to deadlines
Proven track record of fault diagnosis to component level
Understanding of all common types of Test Strategy
Ability to learn new Test concepts
Proven track record of training test techniques to new and existing staff
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communications skills; written and verbal
Demonstrates proactive approach
