British Gymnastics has the following permanent, Full-time post:

Quality Development and Assurance Officer

37 hours per week

Salary range £26,699 to £28,183 per annum (dependent upon experience)

39 days annual leave (including Bank Holiday and Company days) 2 wellbeing days a year weekly exercise and wellbeing hours

This is a dual based role working from Lilleshall National Sports Centre, nr Newport, Shropshire and home

At the heart of that in the UK is the gymnastics community, made up of gymnasts, parents, coaches, clubs and other venues, officials and volunteers - together they form the fabric of a sport that is woven into local communities across the country.

As the UK's national governing body for gymnastics, by working closely with our members who form this community, we aim to lead, support and inspire them to help build a bright future for our sport.


The Role


The main responsibilities of the role are to support the development, implementation and ongoing administration of systems and processes that drive the quality development of British Gymnastics' Tutor/Assessor/IQA workforce and the quality assurance of learning and development provision across British Gymnastics.

The role is designed to help ensure high quality learner interactions with British Gymnastics' learning and development provision that align to national standards and meet UK workforce governance policy.

Main Duties;

  • Support the quality development of the gymnastics Tutor/Assessor/IQA workforce.
  • Support the quality assurance of British Gymnastics learning and development products and services.
  • Administer systems and processes.
  • Keeping our sport, our members, and our colleagues safe

The Person

  • This role requires the holder to contribute to the operational development of systems, processes and provision within the learning and development department. The role holder will need to have, or be committed to developing, a good understanding of formal programmes of learning and frameworks British Gymnastics offer; workforce development, quality assurance and continuous personal and professional development.
  • Applicants will need to demonstrate;
  • Excellent communication. engaging and listening skills communicating regularly, professionally and succinctly with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal skills for influencing, negotiating, and mediating.
  • An ability to analyse/ interpret data.
  • Presentation skills and the ability to Lead meetings and deliver reports/ presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a thorough understanding of communicating with a diverse range of people.
  • Influencing and supporting Tutors, Assessors and IQA's who have responsibility for provision of training and development in support of the wider workforce and operations team
  • Engage with and exchange information and ideas with the wider workforce and develop effective working relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders, internally and externally.
  • Ability to plan and monitor own workload.
  • The role holder will be expected to use their initiative and be creative whilst looking for new ways of promoting and delivering support to the British Gymnastics tutor/assessor/IQA workforce; improving systems and processes; supporting the operationalisation of innovative training and workforce development initiatives.
  • The holder must be able to make a number of decisions and recommendations in relation to planning, organisation, implementation and delivery of tasks and activities associated with quality development, assurance and administration of critical learning and development functions.
