Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, motivated and committed individual to join our small team providing services to adoptive families, foster carers and professionals involved in children in the care system across the North East, starting at 2-3 days per week.

We have a main office in Darlington as well as a trauma Hub in Washington and are looking for someone to join due to expansion of the Hub and a huge increase in demand across the area.

We have a team of clinical psychologists, an occupational therapist, psychotherapists, a play therapist and therapeutic social workers.

We are looking for someone to join our team and help develop our specialist therapy services in the North of the region.


We require people who have a professional qualification (e.g therapeutic social worker, mental health nurse, family therapists and systemic family practitioners), experience of working in CAMHS or social care in a therapeutic setting, plus work experience with adoptive families and/or looked after children.


At a minimum we require individuals to be trained in theraplay or DDP and have a thorough knowledge and understanding of working with traumatised children and families in a range of settings (school, home and the social care system).

It would be of benefit if individuals has experience of delivering training to adoptive families and a knowledge of the Kim Golding Nurturing Attachments and Foundations for Attachment training.

Individuals need to be registered with an appropriate professional body.

The role will involve providing therapy and care co-ordinating for our families and young people.

Individuals may also be required to deliver consultation support and group based work to adoptive families and foster carers as well as attending meetings and representing our service.


We offer competitive rates of pay dependent on experience alongside 28 days AL plus BH, annual bonus and a pension scheme and a sick pay scheme.

The individual will be supervised by a Clinical Psychologist and be offered regular CPD opportunities.


We are keen to develop the service to provide a specialist trauma centre in the area and to promote our ethos of being family centre, genuine, responsive and nurturing in our approach.
