An excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager to take responsibility for the successful maintenance of an established heavy engineering/manufacturing facility.

Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, the key responsibility of this hands-on Maintenance Manager role is to manage the Maintenance operations successfully, in order to achieve the requirements of each customer, whilst working to the QMS ISO9001:2015 and in the most productive & safe manner.

KEY REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCES AND CAPABILITIES

  • Experienced in working in a heavy engineering environment
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations City and Guilds Qualified
  • NEBOSH National Diploma (beneficial).
  • Experienced in Implementing/managing a Planned Preventative Maintenance (P.P.M.) System
  • Managing Health & Safety
  • Having the required business skills for managing budgets, leading a team and liaising with suppliers
  • Having the capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures
  • Having the ability to lead and motivate others and team working skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels
  • Possessing good diagnostic and problemsolving skills
  • Having the confidence to respond positively when under pressure
  • Ensuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns
  • Coordinating the workforce to deliver the ontime plan to achieve +90% OTIF
  • Participating in breakdown reporting and management review process
  • Working with senior management to resolve any production / maintenance issues
  • Attending production meetings with all the information necessary to ensure that meeting is both informative and productive
  • Supporting the Director of Manufacturing to achieve production deadlines
  • Assisting with special projects as required
  • Contributing to continuous improvement activities
  • Communicating at a technical level with Peers and external experts
  • Liaising closely with all departments to maximise production output
  • Identifying cost savings through process improvements
  • Possessing knowledge of 5s methodology

Package/Further Details:


  • Salary £40000£50000 per annum D.O.E
  • Hours: Standard 38 hour working week, with the requirement to be flexible to meet the demands of the role
  • This is a permanent opportunity working with a successful and thriving company
