Description
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Brick team in the position of Quality Controller.


The Quality Controller will cover an area of the brick sector (2-3 sites as assigned) specifically focusing on quality awareness and ensuring a high standard of customer focus is maintained, they will primarily focus on the domain of Quality Control.

Reporting to the Plant/Operations Management they will also play a key role integrating into the Central Technical Operations team and more specifically the Quality Assurance Function.


The primary objective of the role is to ensure that the final backstop Control process' are maintained mitigating any potential for a quality escape from the sites that they oversee.

They will work closely with the sites SQCDP process' to foster "A right first-time culture" in the manufacture of finished product.


The role has responsibility for the improvement of Quality Systems, this comprising of Management and Maintenance of the Quality Control plan at each site.

They will proactively audit these process' to ensure adherence against the frequency, ownership, and delivery of the core declaration of performance characteristics derived for the bricks produced.


Your duties would include but not limited to the following;

Quality Assurance and Compliance Integration:


  • Maintain good communications with Central Technical Operations team, escalating issues to them that cannot be overcome at site level.
  • Support the development of Site Control plans which will be created by the QA Team, and as requested perform audits against these as they become visible.
  • Liaise as appropriate with the Central Compliance auditor ensuring that Internal and External audits are suitably supported, and any actions are followed through for resolution.
  • Where required, support the development of Supplier Quality Assurance principles into the sites that they support.

About you;

  • Brick making experience +5 years
  • Basic problemsolving knowledge 5why, root cause analysis
  • Level 3 certificate in Clay Technology
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
