Atkins Bland Ltd is independent financial adviser based in Ferndown. We specialise in bespoke personal asset management advice for our individual retail clients.

We are looking for a dynamic, self-starting individual to join our company to conduct investment research and analysis.

Our bespoke financial planning services are driven by comprehensive in-house research & analysis, which you will be a prime contributor to in addition to providing support to the Portfolio Review Team, by preparing and monitoring personal client investment recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and assess retail investment funds and products, while also storing these efficiently within our research records.
• Monitor investment risk at various levels, and risk classification of investments.
• Assist with the construction and maintenance of approved investment list for unfettered portfolios.
• Assist with the construction and maintenance of approved investment list for certain products with restricted investment choice.
• Maintain and ensure the integrity of business investment data through regular updates.
• Assist advisers in the preparation of drafting and checking investment recommendations for new and existing clients.
• Responsible for the quality of record keeping for the investment research undertaken.
• Complete any additional investment research projects as and when required by the business.
• Attend Investment Committee Meetings and present new research undertaken to members as required.
• Monitor and appraise economic and market conditions to support the firm's investment advice by keeping abreast of developments in the marketplace.
• Assist with the production of investment commentaries and research notes.
• Provide technical investment support where needed.
• Attend external meetings and seminars when required e.g. introducer/provider presentations.
• Use Financial Express Analytics system proficiently and ensure knowledge is kept up to date.
• Support review team internally by preparing and approving investment fund recommendations

Required Skills:

• Analytical mind set, and ability to understand, challenge & inform investment decisions
• Excellent attention to detail & organisation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently on tasks and support the wider Portfolio Review Team. Strong investment knowledge expertise and problemsolving skills
• Strong Microsoft skills, especially Excel
• A committed team player able to work in a closeknit department, with a willingness to share knowledge and contribute ideas
• Intelligent, energetic, committed to the highest levels of ethics

Atkins Bland is a medium sized Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). We pride ourselves on having a family and professional feel for both our employees and clients.

We specialise in ongoing investment asset allocation advice to our clients, by giving them a personal service, but also cover many other areas such as pensions and tax planning.

We stand for personal service rather than automation.


Other aspects
Full-time or part-time would be considered. Full time hours would be 9am to 5pm. We are happy to discuss part time hours.

Starting salary will be dependent on experience and will be pro rata for part time.

A comprehensive benefits package is offered and will be discussed at interview stage.
