I have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Architect to join a bespoke software and hardware company that will allow you to help build a full end to end solution for its customers, with all the hardware and software built in house.

Reporting to the Lead System Architect and working with the System Architecture which currently has 4 Architects, the role will be responsible for providing the architecture direction and expertise in several disciplines whilst supporting the team with existingand future work streams.
Due to the continual growth of products and portfolios this role is required to support and work alongside the existing team of architects to help support and grow the function across the business.
Effectively you will be requiredto undertake responsibility relating to infrastructure, network and system architecture focusing on Proof of Concept (PoC) design, low level design, documentation and implementation support where required.
The role will be primarily based in Cardiff with a flexible office/home working arrangement. Trips to the office will be around every 6/8 weeks on average.Essential:
- Excellent understanding of how largescale infrastructure
out and troubleshooting
- Excellent and proven experience in network architecture,
infrastructure components (e.g. load balancers, firewalls,
network routers/switches).
- Excellent and proven experience of systems engineering
- Excellent and proven experience in leading on design
issues and problems in field.
- Ability to think on their feet to assess
and options.
- Experience of working as part of a wider architecture
architecture
- Ability to understand machine virtualisation and VM
- Strong experience in the ability to compose a large
diagrams.
- Ability to assess effort, risk, costs and complexity for
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to
- Excellent understanding and experience of hardware
principles
Desirable(non-essential)
- Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, Scientific, Computing
years of experience in mixed software engineering and
IT projects
- Understanding of large distributed, data sharing systems
- Familiarity with message queuing systems, for example
- Experience in disaster recovery failover and hardware
- Experience managing and deploying software and
monitoring.
- Experience with Cyber-Security strategies and
- Experience in the following technologies: Dell,
Benefits
Holiday Allowance - starting at 25 days per annum pro rata our
holiday year is Jan - Dec, then increasing to 26, 27 and 28 after
completing 3-, 5- and 10-years' service, plus the 8 Statutory Bank
