    Best Training London is a leading training provider specialising in security-related certifications, including Door Supervisor, Security Guard, CCTV Operator, and First Aid. Based in Canary Wharf, we deliver high-quality, industry-relevant training that equips students with the skills needed to excel in their careers. With a strong commitment to success, we have trained over 1,500 students and continue to expand our course offerings.

    Key purpose of the role

    We are seeking an experienced and motivated Trainer/Assessor to deliver the Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF).

    You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging training sessions, supporting learners throughout their programme, and conducting assessments in line with awarding body requirements.

    Some of the key responsibilities of the role

    • Programme Delivery: Deliver high-quality lessons for learners on Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF), following the guidelines set by regulatory bodies.
    • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess and evaluate students' performance through exams, practical assessments, and coursework, ensuring all training outcomes and qualifications are achieved.
    • Curriculum Development: Update and improve course content to reflect the latest industry regulations and best practices in line with awarding bodies such as Trident, Laser Learning Awards, and NOCN.
    • Student Support: Provide academic support and mentorship to students, ensuring they are adequately prepared for examinations and the practical demands of security roles.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all training and assessments comply with SIA and other regulatory standards. Maintain accurate records of student progress and feedback, including compliance with EQA and other external reviews.
    • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry changes, security legislation, and training best practices. Attend CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions and participate in internal training as needed.
    • Administrative Duties: Assist in maintaining student attendance records, preparing reports for internal and external audits, and contributing to quality assurance processes.

    Role requirements

    Trainer Requirements

    You must have the skills, knowledge, and experience to teach and demonstrate the subject effectively. You must provide evidence of the following:

    1. Vocational Qualification (one or more of the following):

    • Ofqual Regulated Level 3 or 4 Health and Safety qualification, or
    • Ofqual Regulated Level 3 or 4 Fire Safety qualification, or
    • NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety (or equivalent), or
    • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent), or
    • Degree or Dip HE in a relevant subject, or
    • Verifiable experience as a Fire Officer, or
    • Suitable Fire Safety "Train the Trainer" certificate, or
    • Statement of relevant experience in a fire safety or fire training role (references may be required)

    2. Formal Teaching / Training Qualification (one or more of the following):

    • PGCE, PCET, Cert Ed, or B.Ed / M.Ed
    • City & Guilds Teacher's Certificate
    • Ofqual Regulated Level 3 Award or Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
    • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Learning and Development
    • PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS
    • Further Education Teacher's Certificate

    3. Skills and Attributes:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from various backgrounds.
    • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to relate practical security industry experiences to course content, enhancing student learning.
    • Strong IT skills and familiarity with online learning platforms (for potential online course delivery).
    • A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success and progression.

    Job Type: Part-time

    Pay: Up to £28,000.00 per year
