Through influencing and innovation, you'll bring together our Operations and Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) teams to develop Asset Management Plans, working with asset management staff, engineers, and consultants to improve our asset data, and optimise our asset investment.

Using your knowledge and networks, you'll educate and up skill our staff, leading continuous improvement to get the best value from our assets.

You'll be our asset management conscience and provide an assurance role to align with the ISO55000 standard.

As part of a wider national team of Asset Management Leads, you'll contribute to national asset management strategy and use your connections to glean best practice and learning from colleagues around the country.

As well as this, you'll be a valuable part of our Operations Leadership Team, leading our people day to day through health, safety, and wellbeing.

You will be passionate about people and a key part of our approach to improving equality, diversity, and inclusion in NE Area.

In doing this you will encourage development of your colleagues, create an inclusive environment, and help them to be the best they can be.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.

You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident.

This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

  • The team
  • We are accountable for the management of flood risk assets: from embankments and floodwalls to pumping stations and other river/coastal structures.

As Asset Owners, Maintainers and Operators, we ensure our assets work to reduce flood risk for our communities and enhance our environment with Net-Zero 2030 in mind.

We prepare Asset Management Plans, manage data, contribute to capital delivery, liaise with customers/partners, deliver maintenance, manage contractors, and operate our assets during a flood.

  • Experience/skills required
  • You'll be able to describe how your influencing and communication skills will deliver outcomes through others. Teamwork and partnerships are key, and you'll be able to manage multiple priorities and different demands. We want to hear about your vision for asset management and your innovative thinking to get us there. Previous experience in flood risk and/or asset management would be helpful, as would some engineering knowledge but a keen interest is more than acceptable too.
It's important that you are passionate about people, their development, and creating an inclusive environment. You'll use your experience to manage health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.

We are looking for positive energy and a can-do attitude, a fresh perspective and someone that's excited to help us achieve our EA2025 vision.

  • Contact and additional information
  • We're committed to being an inclusive organisation that reflects the diverse communities that we serve and therefore welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

Everyone starting in a new role will be welcomed into the team and given all the training and support you need to succeed.

We offer fully funded opportunities to develop further academic/professional qualifications.

Interviews are scheduled to take place w/c 10th July
