Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities
Lead Consultants are senior consulting professionals with good knowledge and experience of their business domain.

They provide consultancy services, as well as leading and supervising consultancy delivery teams - providing liaison between the client and the consultancy team.

They meet with clients to discuss and understand their needs, providing possible solutions for the client's considerations; direct, oversee or guide consultants in their work (guiding and supporting their professional development); and provide proportionate assurance for their teams (focussing on quality, project goals and results).

Lead Consultants may lead large, complex and critical consulting projects, and oversee multiple smaller pieces of work.


Lead Consultants will also support the Sales function in a pre-sales capacity and develop relationships and solutions that can support future business growth.


  • 70% contribution to customer funded Project work/Business Development work
  • 30% contribution to Line Management/Leadership work

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education and Qualifications

  • Membership of an appropriate professional body such as IET, BSC or similar

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Domain knowledge of the National Security environment and relevant client needs and practices.
  • Consultancy expertise relevant to National Security clients e.g. Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture, Business Analysis, Solution Architecture, or Systems Engineering etc.
  • Experienced in providing thought leadership and guidance to key stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of delivery approaches and best practices, and tailoring for the best fit to project and client need.
  • Senior stakeholder management: Able to work up to C-Suite to shape and deliver multiyear transformation programmes.
  • Demonstrable skills in leading and managing teams and supporting others to achieve outcomes coaching and mentoring as appropriate.
  • Able to line manage senior technical professionals.
  • Experience in shaping, selling, contracting, delivering and assuring the projects you have led demonstrating end to end lifecycle skills.
  • Commercial awareness and management.
  • Experience of relevant digital technologies.
  • Able to lead the development of technical and business strategies.
  • Effective communicator and facilitator able to adapt style to diverse audiences when communicating both formally and informally.
  • Excellent client interaction skills, collaborative work style and strong interpersonal skills. Able to influence internal and external stakeholders and to responds constructively to challenge.
  • Able to effectively plan and lead processes to conclusion.
  • Able to identify key issues, analyse complexity, form conclusions and identify potential solutions.
  • Able to act with a high degree of professionalism and ethics and embody the customers' culture, so as to make a real difference to the outcomes of the customers' projects.

Security
Due to the nature of this position, we require you to be willing and eligible to achieve

A minimum of Enhanced DV clearance.

As a result, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the UK for the last 10 years.
