Description
Groundwork South and North Tyneside has been Changing Places and Changing Lives for over 30 years through a variety of environmental, learning, health and skills programmes: North East and Yorkshire - Groundwork

We are a fast paced and diverse charity with an excellent track record in partnership working and high-quality delivery.

Groundwork South and North Tyneside (GWSaNT), is currently looking to expand its Governing Body that oversees the development, quality and performance of our Post 16 SEN College, with particular expertise, knowledge and skills around Special Education Needs and/or Post 16 Education Sector.

To support our quality and development of the Post 16 SEN provision, the Board of Trustees are seeking to recruit an additional Co-Opted Governor(s) with expertise, knowledge and skills around the Special Education Needs and/or Post 16 Education Sector.

The Governing Body meet on average, three times a year, as well as supporting workshops and attending student celebration events.

We are committed to the employment and career development of disabled people. To demonstrate our commitment we have been awarded the Disability Confident Scheme Symbol, which is awarded by the Employment Service

We want to improve the diversity of our board, in all meanings of the term and are particularly keen to encourage younger members; women who have not experienced being a trustee or those from minority backgrounds to who this might be their first trusteeship.

However, all are welcome to apply.

Groundwork SaNT believes that a child, young person or vulnerable adult should never experience abuse of any kind.

We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children, young people and vulnerable adults and to keep them safe.

We are committed to practice in a way that protects them.
