The Role

What does the role involve?- Providing key day to day support and assistance including:

  • complex diary management and prioritising the daily schedules-
  • inbox management-
  • resolving ad-hoc issues or queries-
  • ensuring they are prepared for meetings, including that they have sufficient time to review material, and receive papers for meetings in a timely manner-
  • Co-ordinating attendance for speaking engagements, external meetings and conferences including travel, accommodation and expenses.
  • Completing time and annual leave requests in internal HR systems.


Wider Responsibilities including Relationship Management- Working in partnership with Director PAs and other HoD PAs to ensure the effective administrative management within the Directorate.- Liaising with the Executive PA and other HoDs PAs to cover administration activities including ensuring there is adequate administrative cover within the Division.

This includes covering other HoD or Director PAs when they take annual leave.- Building and maintaining effective relationships with other professional business support staff within the Directorate and across the wider organisation to ensure effective communications.

Acting as a role model and key information contact point.- Providing support and getting involved in wider Department and Directorate communications and events, including providing administrative oversight and organisation.

About you

Minimum- Proven experience managing the diary and inbox of one or more senior managers- Excellent written communication skills


Essential- Flexibility to adapt & react to changing circumstances, reprioritising as necessary and proposing solutions to problems as they arise.- Ability to work under pressure- Excellent oral communication skills- Strong organisational, prioritisation & time management skills, with the ability to work in a structured way to a high standard against tight deadlines.- Ability to work well in a team, and to operate proactively with limited guidance using own initiative where the situation requires.- Ability to handle staff confidential & sensitive data with a high degree of discretion, maintaining confidentiality at all times.- Ability to build good working relationships & networks with internal and external suppliers.- High level of accuracy & attention to detail.- Ability to represent the HoDs and Directorate in both a professional and welcoming manner.- Willingness to learn and be proactive about self-development.- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.

The FCA has a national role and is committed to a national footprint. This role can be based in London. Leeds or Edinburgh.

The FCA has London and National Pay ranges to reflect regional differences.

The salary for this role will be:
London - up to £39,000
- _salary offered will be based on skills & experience_

National (roles in Leeds & Edinburgh) - up to £35,000
- _salary offered will be based on skills & experience_


The FCA supports hybrid working and you will be expected to work 40% of your time over a month, in our office.

We will consider other flexible arrangements, for example part time working, and you can discuss this with the recruiter.
