JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful applicant will undertake criminal defence and professional regulatory/disciplinary work. They will work collaboratively with other members of the team and report to Nick Brett (founding partner). They must have experience of police investigationsand defending criminal prosecutions and an excellent knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Rules. They should be adept at running their own caseload and progressing matters with supervision.
The department works on a privately funded basis and the client base predominantly comprises of professional individuals. Applicants should have experience with private instructions. They should also be natural communicators and comfortable advising peoplefrom a wide range of backgrounds.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
Applicants will be able to demonstrate achievement at a leading firm or specialist boutique firm. They will be expected to give specific examples of cases that they have worked on from investigation to trial.
They will be expected to talk about their commercialunderstanding of private criminal practice, their financial performance and ability to meet targets.
It is essential that the successful applicant has excellent IT skills, including the advance features of Microsoft Office and prior use of case management systems.
