Merrifield Consultants are pleased to support with an engaging and ambitious international charity that focuses its efforts on improving poverty and inequality.

We are looking for an experienced Major Donor fundraiser with international experience and interest,to continue their growth and contribute to a new ground-breaking capital appeal, as well as contribute to their ongoing programmes.

This international charity has a very exciting capital appeal coming up, which will impact so many lives in a country that needs the support.

On top of this, their ongoing programmes look continued to grow as their reach and impact increases.

Main responsibilities

  • Maintain the donor pipeline, ensuring asks are made throughout the year and fundraisers remain on track to meet agreed income targets.
  • Support the Executive Director with relationships with donors and prospects.
  • Prepare written and verbal briefings in advance of meetings, events and other interactions, collating information from across the charity about key donors and prospects.
  • Maintain a portfolio of donor and prospect relationships.

Knowledge and skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of media.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to collate and interpret information to create strong written briefings and proposals.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to influence/ persuade colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong IT and digital skills, including confidence with CRM databases, Microsoft Office Tools, using social media and other webbased resources.
  • Strong organisational and workload management skills and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.


The role is perfect for an experienced major donor fundraiser looking for a step into an international organisation as well as those who are working in an international charity and are looking for more responsibility.
