For instance, a Care Home Assistant attending to a critically ill patient at home may have different responsibilities than one working in a care home for young adults with learning disabilities.

Generally, their primary duties include:

• Providing personal care
• Administering medications
• Meal planning and aiding patients with eating
• Ensuring patients adhere to their prescribed medication regimen
• Monitoring patients' condition by taking temperature, pulse, and weight
• Providing light physiotherapy
• Attending to patients' needs and offering relevant feedback and encouragement
• Accompanying patients to medical appointments
• Updating patients' charts and daily notes to track progress
