An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Emergency Department at NUH as a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner.


Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) is one of busiest teaching hospitals in Europe and is nationally recognised as having an established Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) service.

With approximately 200 qualified and trainee ACPs across multiple specialties to date, we are now seeking committed, enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our Emergency Medicine team of ACPs to deliver the highest quality care to our patients.

With strong partnerships with our local universities we are looking for a health care professional to join us as a qualified ACP.

Applicants must be registered with a professional body (NMC, HCPC or equivalent) and undertaken the Non-Medical Prescribing course.

We are looking to recruit fully qualified ACPs who will undergo a supernumerary induction and assessment period.


NUH's Emergency Department is the region's major trauma centre and one of the busiest emergency departments in Europe seeing over 170,000 patients a year.

Within the emergency department is a nationally recognised and well established ACP service.

The team consists of around 65 qualified and trainee ACPs working across both the adult and paediatric emergency departments and we are now looking for extraordinary individuals to join our adult ACP team.

Your clinical development will be well supported by our large ACP team and senior medical workforce.

We run a well-established post-graduation plan which is mapped to the Royal College of Emergency Medicine accreditation competencies as well as encompassing the other pillars of advanced practice.


Along with clinical work across the department, the individual will have weekly rostered time to undertake their own continued professional development alongside service development work.

They will be given the opportunity to follow personal interests and pursuits whether that is in education, teaching, research or management.
