As part of an exciting growth strategy, we are looking for the following highly motivated individual to join our team.
Position available:
Trainee / Junior Quality Inspector
Role Purpose:
Working within a small team of quality inspectors in a busy, fast paced inspection lab.
You will be working to a defined development plan in order that you can train and develop the necessary skill to carry out inspection of varied precision machined parts using many types of equipment.
This will involve supporting with first off, patrol checking and final inspections duties both in the inspection department and on the shopfloor.
As your training develops you will also become involved in completing FAIR, ISIR and critical dimension reporting.Responsibilities:
Supported by senior staff and with regular reviews by your mentor, your training path will target the following disciplines over an agreed period of time:
- Complete in-process first off and final inspections
- Perform shopfloor process audits
- Proficient with inspection equipment and tools including Zeiss CMM, Wenzel gear checking, Zeiss Contracer, Tesa Optical scanner and shadow graph
- Use of Quality Control software
- Assist with CI and lean activities within the Quality Inspection department 5S
- Assist with FAIR, ISIR and PPAP reporting
- Assist in maintaining calibration system
- Attend Quality meetings

Qualification & skills required for this position
- Interest in mechanical engineering and manufacturing
- Confident in the use of personal computers
- Excellent interpersonal, communication with a "_cando_" team approach to work
Pension:
After your 3-month probation, you are automatically enrolled into the government NEST pension scheme. This is a legal requirement. You will contribute 5% of your wage, while Gibbs Gears contribute a further 3%.
