The National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London are excited to advertise
two dynamic Education Administrator roles within their busy education team.


The first of these roles will initially have responsibility for two programmes; one PGT Programme (Allergy) and one BSc Pathway (Translational Respiratory Medicine).

The second is a new role within the department that will initially have responsibility for the administration of one PGT programme, our new MSc in '

Bioscience Futures:
Communication, Innovation Entrepreneurship', including its' promotion and launch, in October 2024.

This role will also provide administrative support to the Education and Operations Coordinators in the areas of marketing and communications, reporting and data analyses and ad hoc systems administration.


As a member of the National Heart & Lung Institute's (NHLI's) Education Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Institute's commitments in education.

High levels of initiative is required and due to the nature of the role, the post involves periods of high activity with some flexible working required.


Both roles require experience in managing large data sets, reporting and use of variety systems and serve as an excellent opportunity to any administrator wishing to broaden their skills and enhance their career within higher education.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • Provide administrative support for the development and delivery of programmes, working directly with academic leads.
  • Coordinate programme delivery requirements and maintain Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs).
  • Act as first point of contact for all communication with students, Faculty and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate Admissions and recruitment processes
  • Administration of financial processes in line with Department budgets.
  • Support welfare processes for students within the Department.

Essential requirements:


  • Has experience of administration within an education environment or appropriate transferable skills.
  • Has excellent IT skills and technical ability with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
  • Has demonstrable experience of taking initiative to improve and develop processes with wide impact.
  • Has excellent communication skills in a variety of formats and ability to maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Has the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a high volume of diverse tasks to tight timelines.
  • Can be flexible and proactive within a fastpaced environment with the ability to consider both short
- and long-term process improvements and service provision.

These posts are open-ended, full-time (35 hours per week) and will be based primarily at the Royal Brompton and Hammersmith Campuses.


  • Hybrid working may be considered for this role. Staff working in roles that are suitable for hybrid working will normally be expected to work 60% of their time onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview._
