About the role


We are currently looking to recruit a Specialist Mental Health Support Worker based at our Supported accommodation service in Shropshire.

The role will be based in Shrewsbury to provide recovery-focused support to individuals with complex and enduring mental health needs, working as part of a 24-hour service.


As a casual worker, we will be able to offer you flexibility within your working hours within our 24/7 365 rota.

The shifts range from early, late, sleep in, and weekends. Where you will be given the same opportunity in your role as other colleagues.


Our support staff assist customers with tenancy and home management skills, cooking, exercise, employment, training, relationships, budgeting, daily activities, appointments, and confidence.

Our main goal is to support independent living and tenancy goals within mental health, to support customers to find permanent accommodation.


We work closely with adult Mental health social workers, NHS staff, advocates, local support charities, employment agencies and family to ensure that a personal support plan and goals can be reached.


We are looking for a highly motivated staff member who would like to join our team in order to deliver a quality service to vulnerable adults.

Qualities and skills

  • Caring, good listener who is proactive. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have hobbies or interests that could support our customers in finding their own.
  • Some experience with mental health and other challenging behaviours
  • Doesn't mind IT, basic knowledge of Microsoft, we can teach you the rest.
  • Flexibility and understanding
  • Great sense of humour and cando attitude
  • Someone who can progress with support with they're personal development and training
  • Understand confidentiality and record keeping
  • Good time keeping, reliability and punctuality.
