Job Introduction

Tutor of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Do you want to help those whose first language is not English integrate into our communities and fulfil their potential? As an ESOL Tutor you can make a real difference to a person's life by helping them learn a new language and develop their confidence, enabling them to integrate quickly and confidently into their local communities and potentially secure employment.


Main Responsibilities You will:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the needs of each learner
  • Evaluate individual and group progress to inform onward planning and delivery
  • Prepare learners for their exams / assessments acting as the Assessor for internally quality assured qualifications, working with our IQA to ensure robust accreditation

How often are you able to directly support someone to have such impact? Within our small, supportive organisation you can do just that 'Students from different backgrounds and levels of education start our courses with a range of knowledge of English, some with none.

Interviews Interviews will take place face to face in Uckfield College and will include a micro-teach to a sample group of role playing learners. These are scheduled for Monday 24 July and Tuesday 25 July.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
