Pay rate £15.07 per hour PAYE

This opening assignment is for 2-3 months

Enhanced DBS disclosure required To perform and assist in the general facilities duties as directed Key responsibilities:

  • The post holder will be required to undertake generic duties for multi-site practices; this will include shift working in line with business operating hours to each site. Periodical Weekend & Evening Work Required.
  • To perform and manage repair and maintenance duties and carry out minor repairs as required / directed on a daytoday basis across the Councils Corporate Estates
  • Assisting in the general upkeep of the facilities IT systems.
  • The Facilities Officer will contribute to the facilities team or any other services that are relevant for the realisation of Islington Council core values and strategic aims in the delivery services, to support the Management on corporate issues as relevant to the post
  • To visit and undertake duties at other sites as required
  • To ensure consistent and timely quality delivery on a value for money basis, as directed.
  • To carry out twice daily building inspections ensuring that all reports/faults in the fabric of the building, including any plant and machinery, health and safety inspection issues are reported accordingly to the Assistant Facilities Manager immediately.
  • Create any relevant works orders required and dealing with internal/external contractors and reporting back to the Assistant Facilities Manager or the Facilities Manager on duty.
  • Assist in the facilities management of premises in relation to maintenance, security, locking buildings and setting alarms, cleaning, repairs, receptionbased services and maintenance of relevant car parks, including the energy management process within the building in carrying out and enforcing energy reduction guidelines

  • A good level of education which supports the requirement of the role. Minimum level C in English, Maths and ICT
  • A knowledge and understanding of administrative duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT systems where applicable
  • Knowledge and background in Local Authority environment
  • Understanding and knowledge of Health & Safety in the work place
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Good interpersonal skills to be able to work as part of a team and deliver a high quality of work on time, as directed
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and orally) and report
  • Ability to prioritise and work diligently under pressure within agreed timescales, as directed
