Description
We are looking for a project worker to assist in the daily operational activities of the NOAH welfare centre.


In addition you will be contributing to the daily operational upkeep of the premises as well as encouraging and facilitating peoples attendance at various support services and group activities.


This role is an excellent opportunity to connect with people that others find difficult to care for, we need someone who is resilient, caring and has the ability to work effectively within professional boundaries to witness incredible life change.


NOAH is a charity that helps people experiencing homelessness, extreme poverty, and other disadvantages to make positive changes in their lives.

We do this by providing care and advice services, training and wellbeing workshops, and opportunities for employment.

As part of the Welfare team you will be responsible for providing high quality support throughout the NOAH Welfare Centre in the following ways:

  • Receiving and processing referrals in line with practice guidelines
  • Providing service users with personalised support to enable them to identify and achieve their personal aspirations, turning assessments into a practical support plan which fully involves the client, ensuring throughout that work is properly recorded onto the In-Form database
  • Participating in the sourcing of appropriate accommodation and reconnection support to those referred to the project (including organising practical tasks and benefit claims)
  • Identifying support needs with service users covering the following areas: motivation, selfcare, money management, social networks, substance use, immigration advice, physical health, mental wellbeing, meaningful use of time and managing accommodation. Using this to then offer a client led support plan that is regularly reviewed
  • Refer service users on to more specialised support and liaise with relevant statutory and voluntary agencies where appropriate
  • Ensure that accurate and up to date service user records, support plans and monitoring requirements are all recorded on the In Form database in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with NOAH's partners and stakeholders including Local Authorities, Housing Providers, NHS, Police, Drug and Alcohol Services, Mental Health Services, Landlords Benefit Agency, other local Voluntary Organisations and any other relevant agency to maximise service to individuals
  • Actively promote and / or participate in service user involvement initiatives and on / off site activities
  • Ensure the Centre is run in accordance with stated Policies and Procedures, and in keeping with best practice
