KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure we have stock of repeatable lines by running and monitoring the reorder report each week. Review rates of sale and forecast to suggest reorder quantities to your buyer to ensure we have three months stock on the floor.
  • Preparing attractive presentations and offers to the sales team to highlight new products as well as offers/price reductions. Include Key facts and selling points, market data, photographs, information on key customers to target/previous customers as well as highlighting any restrictions.
  • Understanding and utilizing all reports and proactively providing feedback to your buyer; out of stock report, oversold dummies, regular lines, expiry date checking, oversold lines, reorder report, stock restrictions, POs due, price changes and product source type.


  • Prospecting new suppliers

  • Carry out market research online and instore and identify any gaps in brands/products. Keep up to date with current trends via social media/Influencers/emerging brands. Use LinkedIn to identify correct supplier contacts to onboard new suppliers.
  • Research and analyse offers from C suppliers. Use Enquiry console to look at previous buys, review price, quantity, sell through rate, Planned Vs actual w/s cost. Consider any items in stock that are similar, would this affect the sell through of the new item. Complete market research, who stocks this, at what price?
  • Help buyer with category management. Reviewing reports and analysing the category growth/decline and the reasons behind it. Completing store visits and research on products and pricing and where we have gaps in our ranges.
  • Managing stock purchased by your buyers by highlighting slow selling lines and creating an effective plan with your buyer to move stock efficiently through the business.
  • Support buyers in preparing for trade shows by making sure we have relevant samples; meetings are organised and any follow up is carried out.
  • Support buyers in meeting preparation ensuring you have relevant samples and reports/purchase history.
  • Covering your buyer/s in their absence; Monitoring their inbox, communicating with the suppliers to ensure they are not awaiting feedback and analysing offers and signing off with buying director/Senior buyers.
  • Covering absences from the office as and when required.
