Are you our next Kitchen Assistant?
Lovett Care is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our amazing team at Fairfax Manor Care Home.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with our team to deliver a quality service for a diverse group of residents.


These positions is for 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £11.15 per hour.
Previous experience within a care environment is not essential, but working within a kitchen environment is highly desired. To discuss this exciting opportunity further, please forward your CV to Gill Allatt

What does a typical day look like?

  • Prepare all foods, as directed by the Chef
  • Assist and execute various kitchen duties such as ensuring cleaning schedules are adhered to
  • Assist in preparation and serving of all meals, in a timely manner
  • Liaise with care team members and residents in a polite and personcentred way
  • Assist in identifying items to be ordered to ensure enough levels of supplies for catering operation from specified suppliers
  • Operate an efficient stock control system
  • Ensure equipment supplied is used with care, in accordance with suppliers' instructions and training
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any faults immediately
  • Prepare food items under the guidance of the chef and support the delivery and serving of food, if required
  • Understand the specific diets identified as required by residents, and share any dietary concerns with the chef
  • Be responsible for understanding Health and Safety requirements.
  • Any incidents or accidents to be reported to the chef, and appropriately recorded and actioned
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
  • Completion of mandatory E-Learnings.
  • To embed and demonstrate our company values throughout your working day.

What qualifications to you need?

  • Experience is highly valued
  • Approved Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate is desired, but not essential
