We are currently recruiting an Administrator to be a part of our integral team in Catterick, Garrison DL9 4AD

For this role you must have strong IT skills such as MS Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel - Skills tests are part of the interview and selection process_**
_DBS and security clearance checks are required due to the nature of workplace.

What you'll be doing:


  • Receive all clients and visitors, clearly identifying the nature of their enquiry and handling it either directly or by referring them to the correct person or department taking into account the sensitivity of the enquiry.
  • Arrange appointments for Service personnel and their families who require to see/speak with the Unit Welfare Officer.
  • Accurately record/relay messages for all appropriate persons and capture return contact details.
  • Answer telephone efficiently and ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Phone key personnel and contact Service families to relay messages as and when required.
  • Make/receive calls to/from various entertainment agencies for the benefit of the Battalion Service families (normally on behalf of the Unit Welfare Officer).
  • Ensure no unauthorised use of the telephone and that all calls are for official Service reasons.
  • Assist with routine typing/word processing.
  • Assist with the publication of unit/families Welfare Newsletters and Flyers.
  • Produce database reports and records of Service families. Maintain a Service family's address list.
  • General office duties, including operation of facsimile machine, photocopier and shredding machine.
  • Arrange transport and liaise with transport agencies for the Battalion Service families.

Occasional Duties

  • Manages the Welfare Facebook page on behalf of the Welfare Officer.
  • Welfare lead for events such as Easter, Halloween, Xmas just to name a few. Assisted by the rest of the Welfare Team.
  • Lead for Coffee mornings with assistance from the rest of the Team.
  • Management of the Welfare Calendar.

Experience:


  • Admin skills essential
  • Previous experience of working in a similar environment is desirable
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • DBS checks required
