***We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and curious

IT Support Assistant to join our IT team.

  • Working within this small and mighty IT team, you'll work closely with our IT Support Manager in fulfilling the IT needs of our business across The Gleneagles Hotel and Gleneagles Townhouse. This role is the ideal opportunity if you're new to the Hospitality industry and looking to develop your IT skills and knowledge or also if you're already working in a similar end user facing IT support role.


We employ a wide range of industry standard IT platforms as well as a number of Hospitality specific systems which will provide you with a fabulous opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in all aspects of IT in a high pace, fast-moving and luxury Hospitality business.


The role will require some work outside of normal working hours to support our business, both undertaking planned maintenance projects and ad hoc support requests, and will also include regular weekend working.

Here's a bit more detail on what we see you doing in this role:

  • Working alongside our IT Support Manager, you'll support all Gleneagles IT systems, responding swiftly and professionally to incident and change request tickets on our Helpdesk system from our team members
  • You'll support the delivery of daytoday upgrades and maintenance including the roll out and replacement of IT hardware and software
  • Delivering the highest standards of first line support, assistance and advice to our team Members, both at remote sites and whilst they work from home
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date documentation of all IT infrastructure
  • Working with our third party providers to effectively resolve incidents and change requests
  • Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their stay with us 5 star in every way

The kind of person we're looking for:

  • You already have a recognised IT qualification or equivalent experience, of at least one year, in a similar role
  • Experienced in troubleshooting problems with Windows and Microsoft Office, you also have handson technical knowledge and experience with computer hardware
  • You have a great understanding of the Microsoft management tech stack including Windows OS, O365, Azure, AD, Group Policy and also Windows Server; you also have a basic understanding of LAN and networking concepts
  • An understanding of the Hospitality industry and Hospitality management systems, including payment systems and Point of Sale is desirable as is experience of Audio Visual systems and solutions
  • You have the ability to work independently with a strong focus on customer service, you also love problemsolving skills and learning new software and technology
  • Always fresh and adaptable in your approach, no matter how many times you're presented with an issue, to our team members it's the first
  • Highly motivated and possessing an immense sense of pride in your work; you're passionate about delivering the high standards for our guests in line with the Gleneagles brand
  • You have a positive "can do" attitude to solving problems in a professional and courteous manner
  • A strong team player with great communication skills and an enthusiastic approach; you're well organised and punctual with an eagle eye for detail
