Residential Childcare Bank Worker position will involve working in our 3 bedded - residential children's home that supports children and young people with emotional, behavioural difficulties.

This job entails providing one to one therapeutic residential childcare for children aged years who could have suffered abuse and/or neglect in their lives.


Due to growth and expansion; we are looking for compassionate, positive, and creative carers that are aligned with our goal of changing children's lives.

What you will be doing:


  • Providing one to one residential and support therapeutic care for children aged 1118 who are from a background of trauma and neglect.
  • To be responsible for the physical, social, and emotional wellbeing of the child/children.
  • To participate in children's daily routines e.g., planning children's activities, arranging medical appointments, liaising with third parties to the organisation including schools and social workers etc.
  • Working holistically with care, education, and therapy to achieve the best possible outcomes for the child.
  • Working with a team and manager to ensure the children in your care have all their needs and requirements met.
  • Ensuring all Safeguarding responsibilities are met.
  • Maintaining appropriate and accurate records and reports.
  • Shifts involve 15.5 hours of working time; plus sleep in duties with some shifts. (In exceptional circumstances, waking nights may be required).

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications


Ideally, you will have some experience of caring for young people with emotional difficulties or challenging behaviours, however, what we are essentially looking for is someone with a genuine desire to develop and progress a career in this sector with us.

We have helped develop people with no experience to achieve some unbelievable outcomes for children through the strong relationships they have formed.


  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a dedicated team.
  • Flexibility to work on a rolling rota basis over 365 days per year (this will include bank holidays and weekends).
  • A valid enhanced DBS, or willingness to undertake a DBS check.
  • A respectful, courteous, and compassionate nature.
  • Open and honest approach with a growth mindset.
  • Basic IT skills and familiar with MS Office.
  • Willingness and ability to complete sleepin shifts.
  • Driving licence
If not already qualified, a willingness to undertake Level 4 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce (England)

Salary:

£11.44 +

  • Additional £50 sleep in bonus

Schedule:

  • 0 hours contracted, pick up as many or as little hours as available
  • Shifts include day time, night time, sleeps, weekends, bank holidays etc.
