The
HR Business Partnerwill provide HR advice and support on a wide range of strategic and operational Human Resources issues across the Kent and Norfolk regions of the Municipal division.


Your core responsibilities

  • Implement the Divisional HR Strategy, and therefore in turn the Division's Balanced Business Plan (BBP).
  • Provide HR advice and support on a wide range of strategic and operational Human Resources issues to the relevant senior operational team and more widely across the business when required
  • Provide the required employee and industrial relations support, with a particular focus on trade union engagement.
  • Input into key industrial and employee relations projects and activities
  • Work with operational teams to devise development and succession plans
  • Promote and drive the employee engagement agenda, particularly by assisting with completion and execution of engagement plans
  • Facilitate the management of all disciplinary and employment law related situations
  • Oversee and deliver management of local consultation exercises (eg, redundancies, TUPE, bargaining etc)
  • Develop and coach line managers in effective people management activities to ensure a focus on value add priorities and dealing efficiently with HR operational activities

Our essential requirements

  • Full CIPD or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of senior business partnering, preferably up to and including General / Regional General Manager level
  • Experience in delivering projects within a trade unionised environment, including (but not restricted to) restructure programmes, change agendas, post TUPE / acquisition activities
  • Familiarity conducting / finalising local pay negotiations
  • Able to manage organisational change; including appropriate consultation mechanisms
  • Managing TUPE / acquisition projects; including appropriate consultation mechanisms
  • Appropriate case management at all disciplinary stages, up to and including employee tribunialss and all associated legal activities
  • Extensive experience of individual and collective grievances, including experience of dealing with local and regional Trade Union representatives
  • Experience of developing employee engagement action plans, and a strong understanding of performance management processes, talent management processes & succession planning
