Senior Operational Buyer - Rotherham / Hybrid - £38,000 - £40,000

Chase & Holland are excited to be working with a major manufacturing business based in Rotherham who are looking for a Senior Operational Buyer to join their team.

As Senior Operational Buyer you will deliver all required aspects of pre contract work and negotiate, close and put in place contracts that deliver short and medium term value for the business.

You will utilise clear category strategies, to ensure high quality contracts are in place that are managed through their entire lifecycle and be wholly responsible for the key service contracts for the business.

Senior Operational Buyer Responsibilities:


  • Setting clear category strategies, increasing cooperation with technical and end users, efficient and effective sourcing of goods, services and or materials in order to obtain an optimal price / quality relationship
  • All elements of contract strategy, negotiations & closing
  • Ensuring local contract managers are competent and effectively deployed to meet targets including regular tracking and monitoring of performance
  • Regularly scan the marketplace and suppliers, collect facts and then deliver relevant marketplace and supplier data, including clean sheet analysing to ensure effective construction of category strategics in close coop for the best interest of the business
  • Converts demands of end users and construct a sourcing plan that maximises value across the business within framework of agreed category strategy. Obtain economics of scale for large quantities for goods, services and materials with real business impact
  • Delivers all required aspects of pre contract work and the negotiations, closes and puts in place contracts that deliver short and medium term values for the business and managers the contract through its life cycle by frequently analysing effectiveness,progress on KPI's set in close cooperation with the contract management organisation at the user end
  • Have accountability for ensuring local contract managers are engaged in contract strategies

Hours:

Full-time, Monday (7:45am - 4pm) and Tuesday to Friday (8am - 4pm) 45 minute lunch
Hybrid working allowing up to 2 days per week working from home


Required Skills & Experience:


  • A strong background working within Engineering or Industrial Manufacturing
  • Have strong stakeholder management skills and be able to influence at all levels
  • Driven, with a proactive approach to work and finding solutions
  • A team player
  • Experience of working with MRP/ERP stock control systems
  • Strong using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
