Overall Purpose of a Senior Building Services Engineer:

Under the direction of the Head of Strategic Asset Management you will carry out the professional Mechanical & Electrical engineering consultancy work to the council's properties, with particular reference to adaptation, refurbishment, extension and new build.
Provide advice on plant and related service maintenance and to advise on costs. Capable of preparing estimates, costings, briefs, feasibility studies, reports and analysis. To provide guidance on responsibilities and opportunities in relation to buildingsand their maintenance.
You will ensure that service contractors and maintenance are completed well and to a compliant standard, with involvement in Capital works programme where required.
When required, you will manage urgent problems of plant and related services, through the use of personal skills and/or other available resources. This will require in person site attendance.
Advise and review options on energy efficiency (in conjunction with the Energy Manager) and to compile a programme of greening works, to reduce energy costs.
Investigate building services defects and provide solutions to complete remedial works, prepare a specification and commission contractors to undertake the required works.

Experience & Qualifications:

Accredited Building Services Degree.
Proven Autocad and NBS experience.
Experience with developing a client brief, designing, and delivering projects in excess of £1m.
Significant experience in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or skilled in one discipline with a sound knowledge of the other, in a similar role from either a public or private sector background.
Car owner/driver.
Be able to carry out inspection, including vacant site, confined spaces, use of steps, ladders etc.
