My client is an award winning, highly respected IFA who are continuing to grow and are seeking a Competency and Development Manager to join their Manchester team.

This role is pivotal in ensuring they continue to develop the best advisers in the industry and that they are coached, observed and given constructive feedback enabling them to achieve competent adviser status and ensuring they are equipped with the knowledgeto provide clients with the best financial advice for their personal needs

The Role

This role is all about people.

Recognising their talents, observing areas for development, sharing best practice (both knowledge and behaviours) and ensuring advisers are equipped with all the skills to present clients with the best financial advice tailoredto their individual needs.

Competency and Development Managers will enhance and deliver the company's Training & Competency scheme.

They will assist in the design, implementation, delivery and recording of individual and group training activity and will workclosely with Senior Managers to identify group and individual training requirements enabling each team to achieve their highest potential, in terms of client facing skills, supervision skills and technical knowledge.

Importantly, Competency and DevelopmentManagers will be responsible for signing advisers off as competent and will document all supporting evidence that supports sign off.

Responsibilities - Liaise with Senior Managers, and analyse available MI, in order to identify individual and group training needs. - Assist in the development and delivery of training programmes to address local training needs. - Provide tailored coachingto advisers and supervisors to assist them in achieving personal and company goals. - Delivery knowledge and skills training for advisers and supervisors until they are deemed to be competent.

- Conduct live client meetings or roleplay scenarios in order toassess an adviser's competence and to further develop their ability - Observe and record one to one meetings with advisers - Hold responsibility for the advisers ongoing competence under SMCR.

- Monitor and support advisers with the completion and recordingof CPD - Attend department meetings to ensure understanding of team objectives, priorities and challenges - Assist in the delivery of company induction programmes, as required

Experience and Skills - Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent) - Experience and demonstrable knowledge of working in a regulated Financial Services environment - Experience of coaching individuals and providing feedback - Previous experiencein a Training and Competence role within Wealth Management
